Considering how costly it is to get an iPhone fixed, it’s especially mortifying to drop your device and pick it up to realize it’s sustained some damage.
One Star Wars fan, however, stuck to the light side of the Force and made the most out of an unfortunate situation. After their iPhone’s screen was struck with what has been called the “green line of death,” the Apple user turned it into a lightsaber by changing their device’s wallpaper.
As shown in a video posted online, the fan’s lock screen wallpaper shows a young Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker wielding a green lightsaber that actually glows, no thanks to the broken display.
Unsurprising to anyone who has been on the internet in the past months, their home screen wallpaper features the adorable Baby Yoda.
Their optimism and creativity have wowed members of the Star Wars subreddit. “An elegant solution for a more civilized age,” one Redditor responded. “I see you have constructed a new lightsaber. Your skills are complete. Indeed you are powerful as the Emperor has foreseen,” chimed in another.
